When In Doubt | Family Friday

We started the adoption process 22 months before we were able to bring Maximus Taeyang home to us. In the beginning we had some support, but more people than we expected had more questions for us, which in turn made us doubt that this was something God was directly us towards. Throughout the process as we had to start paying many fees and we wondered how this was going to get done … those were the times that we KNEW God called us to adoption. Somehow, whether fundraisers or grants like Lifesong’s, the right amount of money always came in! It was never much more than we needed, but it was always enough. When Two Becomes Eight Kids (and counting!) | Family Friday

Our plan when I married my wife was to have one or two children. Lifesong recently helped us add our eighth. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful God allowed us to be part of His plan in this way and to be surrounded by our incredible children. It is amazing He was able to pull us through our own selfishness to the life we now live! God has orchestrated every step in our lives to lead to being a large adoptive family that will continue to grow, giving us abilities and circumstances to make it happen. After I unexpectedly lost my father at age 17, my wife’s parents virtually “adopted” me, taking me into their home and spiritual training. When a high school mentor spoke to our fifth grade class about her goals, including adopting a child, I was convinced. This new idea of adoption instantly became my passion–a passion I’ve carried in my heart for years. When my husband, Ben, and I began the process of adopting our child, my parents sent us two gifts–a teddy bear and a stuffed giraffe.
